Department of Archaeology carryout archaeological excavation in different part of the country. According to provision of Ancient Monument Preservation Act 1956, other agencies should take permit from Nepal Government before conduct the excavation in archaeological sites. More than 50 archaeological sites had carried out archaeological excavation in different part of the country by Department of Archaeology itself and collabration with local bodies and international agencies.
